Dear Partner,
We regret to inform you that there may be temporary difficulties ensuring supply of our Bremerhaven tank farm by ship: The Kaiserschleuse lock at the north harbour of the Bremerhaven port has been out of operation for a while because of the repair work being carried out at the lock gate guide. Hence, so far, we had to use the north lock and the open road-rail swing bridge to sustain accessibility by ship to the north harbour and our tank farm in Bremerhaven. Unfortunately, on last Thursday, the said road-rail swing bridge went out of service (in closed position) due to a fault and it cannot be put back into service due to the severity of the damage. Given this, the Kaiserschleuse lock was reopened in emergency mode for a short time to allow navigation. It is expected that the swing bridge will be lifted out on 09.04.2021 by means of a floating crane and floating pontoon, so that the waterway to the north lock will then be navigable again. At present, we do not expect any more problems that could affect accessibility by ship to our tank farm in Kaiserhafen, but we would request you to work closely with our tank farm staff in this regard as soon as you plan your next storage or pick up.
Access by road: Until further notice the Bremerhaven tank farm can be reached only via the Kaiserschleuse lock; however, it is to be expected that there may be delays due to the high traffic volume.
We thank you for your understanding.
